The Impact of Service-Learning on University Students’ Academic, Personal and Social Achievements

This study aims to evaluate the introduction of Service Learning (SL) in university
curriculum; the focus is to examine the impact of SL on students’ achievements from
academic, personal and social dimensions. To attain this goal, a questionnaire of three
sections, each of which consists of six (06) items, was distributed to 40students at the
Department of English language at KasdiMerbah University of Ouargla after introducing
them to courses designed on the basis of the four stages of services learning in which they
presented their community project. The findings of the current study showed that service
learning has positive impact on university students’ academic, personal and social
achievements.
