Abstract

The growing demand for clean, sustainable energy solutions has led to the increasing adoption of microgrids, especially in applications where reliability, efficiency, and renewable energy integration are paramount. In particular, DC microgrids have gained significant attention due to their ability to efficiently manage renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, as well as their reduced energy losses compared to AC grids. However, ensuring the continuous and reliable operation of DC microgrids, particularly in remote or off-grid areas, requires advanced energy storage solutions. This paper explores the design and optimization of hybrid energy storage systems (HESS) tailored to enhance the performance of DC microgrids.
