Abstract

In the last century, the labor market has been changed both from a sociological, as from the economic and technological point of view. These changes have led to the disappearance of some types of employment and the emergence of others. In this context, concerns about the socio- labor integration of people is the ultimate goal of policy and education and open a debate on employability in which the university is not left outside. But how can the Spanish universities optimize the employability of their graduates? This issue is addressed in the present study, using as fundamental methodology a literature and web pages of the universities (public and private) review. The results show that the employability is links to different factors that influence it, concluding that must be treated as a shared responsibility. Obviously, the responsibility of the universities is emphasized, as an educational institution, to improve the employability of their graduates, noting that Spanish universities have two strategies that help optimize it: the design of new curricula and an adequate offer of professional counseling services
